January 11, 2026: Fishertown—Transportation
A few broad roads run through Fishertown, but much of the area is a maze of winding lanes and narrow alleys. The many arms of the harbors that penetrate far into the district are crossed by often precarious bridges, elevated enough that the low fishing boats can make their way underneath with little difficulty, though taller ships would find them an obstacle. Large carts full of fish are common on the larger roads, owned by merchants and restauranteurs transporting the wares they purchased from the fishermen to destinations elsewhere in the city, but many of the bridges and smaller byways are unsuitable for anything but foot traffic.
Of course, if one is traveling along the coast, there's also the option of getting around by boat. While there are always a lot of fishing boats docked there, the harbors of Fishertown are extensive enough it's generally not too hard to find a free berth. Relics of the city's older days, there are tunnels in the shore accessible only by boat (or swimming); some are in use by smugglers, others have found other uses by the locals, but some have never been fully explored.
